So let's take a look at Verses 5-6 from the standpoint of deputation. How could we apply these verses to living the life of support raising for missions?
TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL THINE HEART [No matter how difficult it seems, no matter how many "no" answers we receive, we must completely keep our confidence in the one Who called us and Who will supply the support needed] AND LEAN NOT IN THINE OWN UNDERSTANDING [Do not trust in my understanding that says,"why don't all of God's local churches see the need for missions and make missions a top priority for their church finances? Why are there so many distractions that draw funds away from God's Great Commission? Why don't the churches see MY vision for ministry?] IN ALL THY WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM [I must Know Him in every situation by staying faithful in communication to Him in prayer and through His Word, Asking Him for Wisdom (James 1) and seeking to honor Him in all I do] AND HE SHALL DIRECT THY PATHS [If I acknowledge Him, Fully rely on Him instead of what I know, He will make my way straight]Deputation is not easy, nor does it always make sense. Proverbs 3:5-6 is a great reminder to all who experience this life of adventure that it is not us, but God who "hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" (Philippians 1:6b)
